It is my pleasure to invite you to discover the difference here at Union Day School. As we enter our 7th year as a charter school here in Weddington, North Carolina we continue our focus on providing your children with the opportunity to learn in an inquiry-based environment. UDS is committed to high academic standards as illustrated by our MYP (middle years programme) candidacy with the IB (international baccalaureate) and our focus on hiring and retaining highly educated, certified, and dedicated teachers. Our attentive and supportive non-teaching staff work tirelessly to reduce distractions for our educators and bridge the gap between the school and home. Our PTO (parent teacher organization) are active participants in our school community as they positively and proactively assist at UDS in meaningful ways. Our school board is fully committed to ensuring that UDS is positioned and supported at the level necessary to become a top school in the Charlotte area. Our students represent diversity in culture, race, religion, preferred learning modalities, learning differences, and all actively contribute to the school community in a variety of ways.

I am privileged to lead our dynamic school into its next phase as we add our inaugural freshman class and prepare them to enter their future careers and universities of choice after graduating in 2026, our first commencement ceremony. My goal for our graduates and each UDS student is that they become active participants in the increasingly global community and become active producers and critical consumers of information. Our students are our focus and the reason that we are here, their challenges are our own, their success is our success. I believe in diversity , equity, and inclusion; the value of each and every member of our school community, and that every stakeholder is critically important to our progress. I would encourage you to get to know us here on our website and social media, visit our campus via a tour, and reach out via email to determine if UDS is a place that your child(ren) can thrive. Together we can change the world through education.
