COLLECTING CHRISTMAS DONATIONS!

The Kindergarten will be collecting donations for the Union County Christmas Bureau. They provide a stocking for children who are in need within Union County. Mrs.Meeks has been communicating with the organization and, due to the incredible need, our goal is to fill 150 stockings. We know we have such an amazingly generous community and we can do this! We surpassed that goal last year and the volunteers at the Bureau were so appreciative of the generosity from our school community.

By clicking here you will find a list of the suggested supplies for each age group. You may send in any of the items and the Kindergarten, or individual classrooms, will sort all of the items and then fill the stockings and be sure each child’s stocking is full and age appropriate. We have heard that there is usually a shortage of donations for the older children and teenagers. For some, this is the only gift they will be receiving. All donations towards this project are so greatly appreciated!

We are asking for all donations to please be sent in by Friday, December 10th. The Kindergarteners have such kind hearts and they are looking forward to helping other children.

Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

The Kindergarten Team

Lost & Found is overflowing! We have many, many lost jackets, sweaters, water bottles, a few lunch boxes, and some other interesting items that need to make their way back home.

Our Gryphon kids are welcome to have a look. Gryphon parents are welcome too! Stop in if you get a moment.

Please know that any item with a last name will be returned to your student. Please please put your kids' names in removable outer wear!

- Attention UDS Parents/Guardians if you have received notification of required missing medical documentation please return the requested info as soon as possible. If you received a second med authorization form it is due to the form being updated for this school year. The changes made to the form are a required nurse review as well as the back of the form has the required documentation for your student to be able to self carry emergency medications. The only emergency medication that may be self carried are medications related to asthma, diabetes, and severe allergies.

The documentation we would like returned as soon as possible includes:

  • Medication Authorization Forms

  • Emergency Action Plans

  • Immunization Records

  • Yellow Medical Cards

  • Health Assessments

- Reminder to submit your students Vaccine records and Health Assessments if you have been notified they are needed.
- Reminder to fill out the brief form on Concussion history if not done so.

-  If you are picking your child up for early dismissal, please email your child’s teacher and copy Emily Campbell, our receptionist, at Emily.Campbell@UnionDaySchool.com including your student's full name, expected time of pick up and the name of the person picking up the student if anyone other than the parent.

SHAPING THE GLOBAL CITIZENS OF TOMORROW

It has been an exciting week in Design as I have been able to witness the creative genius of our middle school students! We have been working on Stop Motion Cinema and each group was tasked with creating their own plot, drawing the frames, creating their subjects for their film and then filming and editing their Stop Motion Cinema films. I encourage you to ask your student to show you what their group created!
